Aas 03-003 the Inertial Stellar Compass: a Multifunction, Low Power, Attitude Determination Technology Breakthrough
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Inertial Stellar Compass (ISC) is a miniature, low power, stellar inertial attitude determination system with an accuracy of better than 0.1o (1 sigma) in three axes. The ISC consumes only 3.5 Watts of power and is contained in a 2.5 kg package. With its embedded onboard processor, the ISC provides attitude quaternion information and has Lost-in-Space (LIS) initialization capability. The attitude accuracy and LIS capability are provided by combining a wide field of view Active Pixel Sensor (APS) star camera and MicroElectroMechanical System (MEMS) inertial sensor information in an integrated sensor system. The performance and small form factor make the ISC a useful sensor for a wide range of missions. In particular, the ISC represents an enabling, fully integrated, microsatellite attitude determination system. Other applications include using the ISC as a “single sensor” solution for attitude determination on medium performance spacecraft and as a “bolt on” independent safe-hold sensor or coarse acquisition sensor for many other spacecraft.

The Inertial Attitude Augmentation for Ambiguity Resolution in SF/SE-GNSS Attitude Determination
The Unaided Single Frequency/Single Epoch Global Navigation Satellite System (SF/SE GNSS) model is the most challenging scenario for ambiguity resolution in the GNSS attitude determination application. To improve the performance of SF/SE-GNSS ambiguity resolution without excessive cost, the Micro-Electro-Mechanical System Inertial Measurement Unit (MEMS-IMU) is a proper choice for the auxiliary...
متن کاملThe effect of variation of stellar dispersion velocities by the galactic latitude in interpreting gravitational microlensing observations
Our galaxy is a spiral galaxy and its stars are mostly in a thin disk and rotate around the galactic center. The vertical component of the dispersion velocity of stars is a function of the galactic latitude and decreases with increasing it. In the galactic Besancon model, this dependence is ignored and they just consider the dependence of dispersion velocity on the stellar age. Becanson model i...

An adaptive guidance algorithm for close approach to and precision landing on uncooperative low-gravity objects (e.g. asteroids) is proposed. The trajectory, updated by means of a minimum fuel optimal control problem solving, is expressed in a polynomial form of minimum order to satisfy a set of boundary constraints from initial and final states and attitude requirements. Optimal guidance compu...

Abstract In his paper a new current-controlled conveyor (CCCII) in CMOS technology is presented. It features, low supply voltage (±0.7), low power consumption, low circuit complexity, rail to rail operation and wide range parasitic resistance ( ). The circuit has been successfully employed in a multifunction biquad filter. Simulation results by HSPICE show high performance of the circuit and c...
متن کاملApplications of Inertial Navigation Systems in Medical Engineering
Inertial navigation systems are of the most important and practical systems in determining the velocity, position and attitude of the vehicles and different equipment. In these systems, three accelerometers and three gyroscopes are used to measure linear accelerations and angular velocities of vehicles, respectively. By using the output of these sensors and special inertial algorithms in differ...
